Join the Southeastern Chapter of the IAFCI as we kick off our 2025 events with Frank McKenna and Mary Ann Miller. 2024 was “Fraud At Full Throttle” as fraudsters upped their attacks. But it was the breakneck speed of everchanging scams that surprised them most. Just when Frank and Mary Ann thought things could not get worse, they did. And when we felt that AI deepfakes were years away, they happened. Here we are in 2025, The Year of “A Great Collapse of Trust”. The age of AI has begun, promising to challenge everything we know about fraud and scams. With AI now accessible to everyone with an Internet connection, we are witnessing the dawn of a new era of fraudster, which we call the "Fraud Shapeshifter."
In this session, we will explore the emerging threats these shapeshifters are bringing into the world and understand which technologies and strategies show the most promise to defend against their attacks.
